A very wise man once said that there was a sucker born every minute and some of the products they are advertising on television or in Infomercials now-a-days are really taking a bite out of the pocket of greater America and making this statement all to true. Anyone catch the commercial on a grooming spray called Miracle Groom? I saw a commercial for it yesterday aimed at pet owners who didn't want the expense of taking their dog to the groomer and how this miracle product could make the dog look like it just came home from the groomer. These are all the commercial claims (the ones I remember....brain dead around the 4th of July Holiday) cleans muddy paws in a minute, detangles and demats (just spray on and brush), gets rid of shedding hair (shows them wiping off a golden and tons of undercoat is coming off of the dog), cleans the dogs coat as well as a regular bath, the product will repel (or maybe they said kill) fleas for a time after the bath.... they show a standard poodle and the owner says she uses the product and then brushes the dog and he is so white... says that this is the product groomers use... The product is being promoted to make it sound like pet owners are wasting money on groomers cause all we do is spray on the product and brush the dog- so just buy this stuff for 19.95 and do it yourself ! Yeah! Sure! Let’s see spray and brush. That good for starters but poodles don’t blow undercoat. Their hair mats like crazy when not brushed regularly. This Miracle Groom is going to remove that excess hair. Don’t believe it. Cutting removes excess hair in a poodle. Brushing removes excess undercoat in dogs like a golden and you don’t need a spray that costs only a few dollars less than a good bath and brush at the groomers who will also trim the nails and clean the ears. People! People! People! Don’t you think if there was such a miracle product on the market that groomers would be rich cause they could do loads of animals a day with hardly any effort on their part. I have said this before : Grooming is hard work! That is why there are so many groomers and they stay really busy. If we can’t get you to understand that you need to brush your animals now .... how are you going to manage to use this miracle product properly. If you do buy it please remember you must brush until all the mats are gone. All of them! Then you will have your $19.95 plus shipping and handling worth. And when your arm or animal gets really tired please call for an appointment and we will try to correct the problem for you. Just don’t wait until next year.
