This indenture mane the 25th day of January A.D.1827
between George A. Conn of the county of Rutherford and
State of Tenn on the one part and Richard I. Conn of the
county aforesaid and state aforesaid of the other part,
witnesseth that the said George A. Conn for and in
consideration of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid
before the sealing and delivery of these presents the
receipt which of is here by duly acknowledged and for
their good causes and considerations him the said George
A. Conn Specially moving hath bargained and sold,
enfiffed, released and forever quit claim and by these
presents doth bargain, sell unto the said Richard I.
Conn, all that tract or parcel of land lying on the head
of the East fork of the west fork of Stones River
containing one hundred and ninety acres more or less
abutted and bounded as follows to wit beginning at a
beech in the north boundary line of said land, thence due
west one hundred and eighty poles and a half to a beech,
thence south one hundred and eighty eight poles to a
stake, thence east one hundred and eighty six and one
half poles to a stake, thence a straight course to Stones
river with a cross fence now standing to a stake thence
along said course to an ____________ thence a straight to
course sixty four poles to the beginning to have and to
hold the said lands tenements, hereditiments

men by these presents that I George A. Conn of the county
of Rutherford and state of Tennessee for and in
consideration of four hundred dollars which I owe to
Richard I. Conn, have this day given, granted and sold,
and by these presents do give, grant and sell unto the
said Richard I. Conn, the following property, consisting
of negroes, goods and chattel -- to wit one negro boy
named Hartwell aged six years, one negro girl named
Narcissa aged nine years, also one bay mare with bridle
and saddle, five head of cattle, and all my household
furniture consisting of beds & C. To have and to hold the
fore mentioned property unto him the said Richard I.
Conn, his executors, administrators, assignees as his and
their own proper possessions from henceforth forever. In
witness whereof I do here unto set my hand and affix my
seal this 25 day of January A.D. 1827 George A. Conn
