The dedicated professional men of The Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department have worked hard during 2004 to ensure that the City of Dunlap and Sequatchie County remains a safe place to live, work and play. Our commitment continues to be to provide for the rapid response of professionally trained firefighters equipped with the best equipment available who care about the community we serve.

The Maltese Cross is the symbol of protection. It means that the fireman who wears this cross is willing to lay down his life for you just as the crusaders sacrificed their lives for their fellow man so many years ago. The Maltese Cross is a fireman's badge of honor, signifying that he works in courage - a ladder rung away from death.

History of Maltese Cross

Did you know? Volunteer Firefighting is the largest and longest going volunteer organization in the United States of America.
